Nine weeks flat after five months of steady loss, same dose, same routine, and I cannot tell whether to wait or change something.

The question I want answered is how to distinguish a genuine plateau from measurement noise and creeping intake, before changing anything.

Numbers rather than impressions, if you have them.

Plateau breaking story with a stall: I stalled at 209 lbs for 7 weeks. Tried everything — calorie cycling, increased exercise, more water. Nothing worked.

What finally broke the plateau: a brief dose increase followed by return to maintenance. Lost 8 lbs in the next 3 weeks. Plateaus are temporary — they always break if you stay consistent.

No disagreement with TrialTracker_MD. One condition attached. Genuine plateaus happen too, and the mechanism is metabolic adaptation plus a smaller body. A body 20kg lighter needs meaningfully fewer calories at rest and less to move, so the deficit that produced the first phase is arithmetically smaller now. The options are the honest ones — increase the deficit slightly, increase activity, or accept the new plateau — and escalating the dose is only one of them.

That is the short version; the long version is somebody else's post.

This is my experience too, for whatever a second data point is worth. Posting only so the count is not one.

Adding the clinical framing, because it changes how the question reads. The honest answer is that the effect is real, the magnitude is contested, and the individual variation is larger than either. Those three things can all be true at once, and most arguments here are two people holding different parts of that.

Amazing transformation! Starting at 287 lbs, I'm now at 162 lbs after 18 months on semaglutide 2.4mg/wk. These photos show my progress at months 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18. The body recomposition has been incredible — DEXA shows 23% body fat, down from 42%...
