Adding the clinical framing, because it changes how the question reads. Most of what circulates confidently in this community traces back to one summary of one study, and the qualifier was dropped somewhere in the third retelling.

Pushing back on Dr.EndoEP here. This treats a plausible mechanism as a demonstrated one. Plausible is where you start looking, not where you stop.

Correct, and worth adding that it is reversible. Nothing being described here is a one-way door, which changes how cautious it is reasonable to be.

Ask again with the specifics and you will get a better answer than this one.
