Ongoing cost tracking for dosing arithmetic — transparency for the community: Monthly medication cost: $119 Supplies (syringes, BAC water, alcohol…

Thank you — that is the clearest version of this I have read, and I have read a lot of them. I will report back once I have actually tried it.

Clinical perspective, offered as context rather than as advice.

Peptide calculator app recommendation for dosing arithmetic: I use ReconCalc to calculate reconstitution volumes and injection doses. Eliminates math errors completely.

Input: vial size (mg), desired concentration (mg/mL), prescribed dose (mg)
Output: BAC water volume (mL), injection volume (units on insulin syringe)

A math error with injectable medication can mean underdosing or overdosing. Use a calculator every time until the math becomes second nature.

Mine went the same way, slower.

There is a second half to this that has not been said yet. They are two different exemptions from the same federal requirements and they buy different things. A 503A pharmacy is regulated primarily by the state board, needs a patient-specific prescription, is exempt from CGMP, and may use a bulk substance that has a USP monograph, is a component of an approved drug, or appears on the 503A bulks list — three independent doorways. A 503B outsourcing facility registers with the FDA, is inspected on a risk basis, must comply with CGMP, may compound for office stock without a patient-specific prescription, and has one doorway to a permitted bulk substance: the 503B bulks list, or the drug shortage list.

Just received my dosing arithmetic order — packaging review:

  • Outer box: plain brown, no medication identifiers (discreet) ✅
  • Inner insulation: Styrofoam with 2 gel ice packs ✅
  • Temperature: vials were cold to touch on arrival ✅
  • Labeling: lot number, BUD, compound name, concentration ✅
  • Included: COA, reconstitution instructions, dosing card ✅

This is what professional compounding pharmacy shipping looks like. If your order arrives without these basics, reconsider your vendor.
