Clinical perspective, offered as context rather than as advice. There is a difference between no evidence and evidence of no effect, and this subject is one where the two get swapped freely in both directions.

I read this differently from Dr.CardioMD, on substance rather than tone. Not convinced. The evidence being cited is consistent with the conclusion and also consistent with two other conclusions nobody has ruled out.

I would rather be corrected than agreed with, if it comes to it.

Correct, and worth adding that it is reversible. Nothing being described here is a one-way door, which changes how cautious it is reasonable to be.

Ask again with the specifics and you will get a better answer than this one.

This is exactly what I could not find anywhere else. Printing the relevant bit and taking it with me.

Moderator note: good thread. Keeping it here rather than moving it, because the question is general enough to be useful.
