Order of operations matters more than any single choice here: establish a baseline, change one thing, wait long enough for it to express itself, then…

anna.melb_AU has the substance of this right. The condition it depends on is worth stating. Yes, and the corollary is less popular: if the reasoning holds, it also holds where it produces an answer we do not like.

Agreed, and coverage criteria are plan-specific rather than insurer-specific.

Thank you for spelling out the reasoning rather than just the conclusion. Sending this to two other people who asked me the same thing last week.

Pushing back on anna.melb_AU here. The affordability discussion here usually stops at individual tactics. At list price this class is out of reach for most of the people who would benefit, and no amount of appeal strategy changes that — it is a pricing problem wearing a paperwork costume.

Worth separating that from cost and coverage, which this thread keeps folding into the same question. They behave differently and the advice does not transfer.

Adding the numbers, since they settle part of this. The boring version of this is the one that works, and the boring version is: measure a baseline, change one variable, wait, measure again under the same conditions. Nobody wants that answer and it is still the answer.

Happy to go further on any of that.

Moderator note: leaving this open. It is being argued well and the disagreement is the useful part.
